Culture, local governments and Millennium Development Goals

The report Culture, local governments and Millennium Development Goals was produced by the Committee on Culture of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). It explains how culture is included in the local development strategies whose objective is the fulfilment of the Millennium targets and goals. The report reveals that creativity, diversity or heritage are values intrinsic to culture and that they are becoming basic elements in all development strategies.
