Pilot Cities 2016-2019

Culture in sustainable cities. Learning with Culture 21: Actions

Based on Culture 21 Actions, and building on the experiences of the Pilot City programme of 2014, 2015 and 2016, the Committee on culture of UCLG launched a new call on the ‘Culture in Sustainable Cities. Learning with Culture 21 Actions’ programme for 2016-2019.

The programme enables participating cities to become “Pilot Cities” of the Agenda 21 for culture, and permit them to participate in a learning, capacity-building and connectivity strenghtening process, on the basis of the principles and actions included in Culture 21 Actions.

Pilot Cities 2014

The programme of Pilot Cities for 2014 is part of the process to elaborate the new Agenda 21 for culture which led towards Culture 21: Actions.

The objectives of the Pilot Cities programme in 2014 were: (a) to offer a specific activity to the cities that wished to align policies and activities with Agenda 21 for culture, (b) to increase the number of “good practices” of our database, and (c) to initiate concrete and useful work with cities that aimed to be active members of the UCLG cities network dedicated to the implementation of the new Agenda 21 for culture in 2015-2017.

This document explains in detail the 2014 Pilot Cities programme.
